Xianfeng Fan

BIO: Dr Xianfeng Fan is a professor in School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Professor Fan has been working on energy storage, CO2 capture using solid adsorbents and solvents, reaction engineering, photocatalysis for environmental remediation, particulate materials processing through interdisciplinary approaches, multiphase flow in porous materials, pore wetting. He is the Editor-in Chief for Clean Energy Technology and Application, and for Journal of Modern Green Energy, and a member of Scientific Council of the UK Carbon Capture and Storage Research Centre. Professor Fan received the British Foundrymen Award from the Institute of British Foundrymen in 2009, and 3 awards from Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, and China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation. Professor Fan has received about £7.5 million research grants from British Research Councils, EU and industries.

BIO: Karamanis Dimitrios work as Professor of Alternative Energy Sources at the Department of Environmental Engineering of the University of Patras. He studied Physics at the University of Ioannina (1986-1990) where he submitted his doctoral thesis (1990-1997). With Postdoctoral Fellowships at CEN Bordeaux (Marie Curie 1999-2001) and at the University of Ioannina (Marie Curie 2001-2002 and until 2008), Prof. Karamanis has thirty years of research experience in the fields of alternative energy sources with special emphasis on wind and solar energy utilization technologies in the last decade. Participating in competitive National and International research programs as scientific coordinator and researcher, he has published over 110 scientific papers in scientific journals, patents and chapters in books with >3000 citations and h-index 35 (Scopus). Prof. Karamanis teaches courses on renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and RES applications in Departments of the Universities of Ioannina and Patras since 2006.

BIO: Professor Haynes works in the areas of soil and environmental science. His present research interests are on rehabilitation and revegetation of mine tailings, the use of constructed wetlands to treat drainage from tailings storage areas and the role of silicon in crop production. He has extensive experience having worked as both an applied research scientist and as a university professor and has worked in New Zealand, South Africa and Australia. He has published over 190 original research papers in international journals, over 25 review papers in international volumes as well as many conference and extension papers and contract reports. He has been an invited keynote speaker at many international conferences and has served on the editorial board of 4 international research journals. He has acted as principal supervisor and co-supervisor of PhD, MSc and honours students in both South Africa and Australia.

BIO: Nur Islami received his B.Sc. from Universitas Riau and his M.Eng from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia, and Ph.D. degrees from University of Malaya, Malaysia. He worked in Caltex Pacific Indonesia (an Oil Company) in 1997-2000. He joined Universitas Riau, Indonesia as Lecturer from 2000 until now. He was as Visiting Senior Lecturer in University of Malaya (70 QS World Ranking 2016), Malaysia from 2006 to 2015. During this period (2006-2015) he also was an instructor and consultant for the environment and exploration company that was related to the geophysics. He received the Professor since 2020 in the field of Geophysics from Universitas Riau, Indonesia. Now, Prof Nur Islami, Ph.D is a reviewer in several Scopus-Indexed Journals and also associate editor of Arabian Journal of Geoscience. His research is correlated with the geophysical method for the environment and earth resources exploration. Prof Nur Islami has many publications in the reputed Scopus-indexed journals.

BIO: Dr. Hongquan Song is a professor at Henan University and the Deputy Director of the Henan Key Laboratory of Air Pollution Prevention and Ecological Security. Professor Song's research focuses on Earth system processes and global change, where he utilizes GIS, remote sensing, and Earth system models to quantify the interactions between air pollution, climate change, and ecosystems under human influence. His work provides scientific and technical support for environmental protection and resource management. Dr. Song serves on the editorial boards of Geography and Environmental Sustainability and Journal of Geomatics Science and Technology. He leads multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Henan Provincial Outstanding Youth Foundation, with research funding totaling over 2 million RMB. He has published more than 100 research papers with an H-index of 26 and over 1,900 citations. His contributions have been recognized with awards such as the Hebei Province Natural Science Award (2023) and the Henan Youth Geography Science and Technology Award (2020).

BIO: Zhibao Huo is a distinguished professor at Shanghai Ocean University and a distinguished professor sponsored by the Program for Professor of Special Appointment (Eastern Scholar) at Shanghai Institutions of Higher Learning. He received Ph.D. at Prof. Yoshinori Yamamoto's group of Tohoku University, Japan (2007). From 2007 to 2010, he continued postdoctoral follow at same group. In 2010, he joined School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In 2018, he joined College of Oceanography and Ecological Science of Shanghai Ocean University. His researches focuses on biomass/waste conversion into chemicals and fuels, CO2 conversion and green chemistry.
